CQC leader to join Government

It has been announced that David Prior has stepped down as Chair of the Care Quality Commission to become a Health Minister in the new Conservative government and will be given a peerage. He succeeds Earl Howe as Minister but his responsibilities have yet to be confirmed.
David Prior was a Conservative MP from 1997-2001. He was appointed to be Chair of the CQC in 2012.

Parliamentary Under Secretary of State: Jane Ellison MP*

*indicates a Minister in the Health Department before the Election
Responsibilities (including dentistry) for all ministers have yet to be announced.
