For Dr Linda Williams, dental surgeon at the Ryedale Dental Healthcare Clinic and Implant Centre in North Yorkshire, the treatment of periodontitis is a team effort.

“For me, the relationship with a perio patient is very close anyhow, because you both really have to work in order to save the tooth – you’re both fighting the same thing and it has to be teamwork.
