Man pleads guilty to illegally practising dentistry

The General Dental Council has successfully prosecuted an Essex man who pleaded guilty to illegally practising dentistry for the illegal practice of dentistry. Mr Harinder Singh is employed as a practice manager at the Devonshire House Dental Practice, Brentwood. He was ordered to pay a £1400 fine and the GDC’s full costs of £1190.23.

Mr Singh has never been registered with the GDC.

Chief Executive of the GDC Evlynne Gilvarry said: “Those people who practise unlawfully pose a significant risk to the patients they treat. The GDC is committed to taking action to ensure public safety. I hope this prosecution sends a clear message to others who may be tempted to practise without being registered with the GDC.”
