LDC Chairman deplores constant change
Speaking at the dinner the night before the LDC Conference, chairman Richard Elvin asked why there had to be so much change in the NHS. He recalled many hours spent in committees, only for the decisions to be over-ridden. ' NHS dentistry should be taken out of politics’, he said.

He said the existing contract needed reform before there is a new contract. He warned that although dentists liked working in new contract pilots, that so did those in PDS before 2006.

The guest speaker was John Motson, who gave an entertaining talk about sporting characters he has met. He then ran the first Charity Auction of an LDC Conference. It raised nearly £5000 for the Benevolent Fund and the Dentists' Health Support Trust.
