The event takes place from 10–12 April 2014 at the Manchester Central Convention Complex and booking is now open. Leading clinical speakers Michael Wise, Gregory Brambilla, Trevor Burke and Jimmy Steele will be speaking at the 2014 BDA Conference. They will be joined by further renowned experts Felix Wöhrle, Richard Ibbetson and Francesco Mannocci.
More than 60 conference sessions will cover all major fields of clinical dentistry including a variety of special sessions focusing on mouth cancer, periodontology, special care dentistry, and paediatric dentistry, many of which will be of interest to the whole dental team. John Milne, chair of the BDA’s General Dental Practice Committee, will host a daily session looking at Department of Health plans for dental contract reform in England.
The accompanying exhibition will feature more than 100 suppliers of products and professional services, as well as associations and charities. The Innovation zone will offer a chance to see the latest technology in action. Delegates seeking one-to-one advice can take advantage of the new Advice Zone, in which BDA expert advisors will answer questions on issues including career and employment issues, business planning and marketing, education, and tax.
The popular Demonstration and Training Essentials theatres will also return. The UCL Eastman Dental Institute-hosted Demonstration theatre will offer a watch-and-learn programme of practical sessions. The Training Essentials theatre will feature more than 20 sessions covering core CPD subjects, regulatory updates and business and personal development.
A range of price options are available for BDA members and non-members with 3-day Conference Passes free for Extra and Expert members, and significantly reduced for Essential members. Prices are also significantly reduced for DCPs and Foundation Dentists. BDA student members can attend for free. Up to 15 hours’ verifiable CPD will be available for those attending. Prospective delegates can find out more and register online at www.bda.org/conference or by calling 0870 166 6625.
