New GDC dental member appointed

The General Dental Council (GDC) has announced that Catherine Brady has been appointed by the Privy Council to take office as a GDC member on June1, 2015. She is a GDP based in Banbury, North Oxfordshire. She has been a member of the GDC’s Fitness to Practise panel since 2007. She is the training programme director for Foundation Training in Buckinghamshire and associate clinical director for Rodericks Ltd.
Catherine Brady is based in Banbury, North Oxfordshire. She qualified at Liverpool Dental Hospital in 1989 and worked in oral surgery and orthodontics in various hospitals before being awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1993. She then entered general practice and is now a co-director of a small dental corporate in Banbury.
Catherine became an approved trainer for newly qualified dental graduates in 2002. This stimulated her interest in postgraduate education and she is now the Training Programme Director for Foundation Training in Buckinghamshire, part of the Oxford and Wessex Deanery. She obtained her postgraduate certificate in medical education from Cardiff University in June 2010.
Catherine is also an Associate Clinical Director for Rodericks Ltd. She has been a GDC Fitness to Practise panellist since 2007 and became a panel Chair in 2013. In 2014 she gained her Masters in medical practice law at Cardiff University.
This position on the Council became available following the resignation in Autumn 2014 of another dentist member, Jason Stokes.
