Roger Matthews is to retire as Chief Dental Officer at Denplan at the end of April. He will hand over to his deputy, Henry Clover. He said in a letter: “I leave Denplan after more than 20 years with the same enthusiasm and belief in its objectives and principles as when I joined. It’s been a huge pleasure and privilege to have worked with an inspiring group of colleagues.”
He continued: “With continued investment and support of Simplyhealth, Denplan’s member dentists, their teams and patients will continue to enjoy the market-leading services of a vibrant company.”
Roger joined Denplan in 1995 having spent 20 years working in general dental practice and as a dento-legal advisor for the Medical Defence Union. He oversees dental advice to the company and its links with professional bodies, and is responsible for Denplan’s professional services.
Under Henry Clover’s leadership, Dr Catherine Rutland will lead on professional support functions of clinical risk management and informal mediation, Dr Louis Mackenzie will supervise clinical training and Dr Martin Fallowfield will continue external liaison with policy makers and dental stakeholder bodies.
All at GDPUK wish Roger, a long term friend of the GDPUK site, a healthy, happy and peaceful retirement.
