BDA Conference will go ahead

The British Dental Association has informed delegates that the British Dental Conference and Exhibition will be going ahead this week as planned following the tragic events which took place at the Manchester Arena last night. BDA Chair Mick Armstrong said: "We are saddened by the events of last night and our thoughts go out to those affected."

Organisers of the BDA Conference have been in touch with all the relevant authorities, and the message is that Manchester is still open for business and the venue is open as usual too. Extra security measures have been put in place for the event as a precaution.

The BDA has encouraged delegates to be mindful when travelling to the venue that there are some travel restrictions in place within the city. Live transport information is available from Transport for Greater Manchester. The Greater Manchester Police have urged the public to remain vigilant, but to go about their daily lives. Updates are available from the GMP website.

BDA Chair Mick Armstrong said: "We are proud to have made Manchester the home for our conference.  We are saddened by the events of last night and our thoughts go out to those affected."
