This year’s event has some exciting new features as well as the welcome return of some of the more popular elements from previous years. Without doubt there is something to suit everyone’s tastes and interests so, if you haven’t already done so, register and save your place now.
BDIA Dental Showcase is the biggest trade exhibition in the UK, so for many people the draw of this event is the unrivalled plethora of dental suppliers, manufacturers and associations all conveniently placed under one roof. As in all aspects of life, technology is evolving at a rapid pace and BDIA Dental Showcase will show you the latest developments as well as giving you the chance to do some research before you make an investment. You will be able to explore the services of a range of dental exhibitors without the usual interruptions you might experience with a daytime appointment during surgery hours. Typically, 75% of exhibitors at BDIA Dental Showcase also offer special discounts, offers or samples so it’s a great chance to try before you buy.
All major dental associations will be in attendance, and this year, they will all be conveniently congregated in the new Associations Hub. Also new for 2019 is the bespoke Specialist Zone, where visitors who have specialised, or are looking to specialise, can boost their knowledge within small, relaxed sessions. For example, there’ll be representatives talking about orthodontics and implants to name just two of the many areas that will be represented.
Also new this year is the Digital Workflow Showcase, which will provide a look into how a digital practice would run, showcasing an entire workflow from beginning to end and demonstrating how this can create a more efficient and cost-effective practice in the long term. Experts will be on-hand to guide you through the process and answer any questions you have on specific equipment or technology.
The Office of the Chief Dental Officer will also be available for all three days in the CDO Zone. Sara Hurley, the CDO for England, and her team will inform you about the ongoing oral health workstreams and priorities in NHS England and NHS Improvement, whilst also being available to meet with the healthcare professionals who are delivering oral care to our population. Now’s the time to provide your feedback and learn more about what’s in store for NHS dentistry.
Your time is a valuable asset and taking time out of the practice can be difficult. At BDIA Dental Showcase, you can schedule your meetings with exhibitors in advance using the new Meetings Tool to ensure you can have the conversations you want with right people quickly and efficiently. With so many companies to see at the show, this is the perfect way to make sure you can make the best use of your time with valuable conversations.
The wide range of learning opportunities really does mean there is something for all the team. The Dental Update Theatre will host a range of experts offering guidance on both clinical and non-clinical topics. Leading academics will lecture on a range of topics from acute dental trauma to the updated IRMER regulations and their implications for dental practitioners. All lectures are designed to provide practical and relatable information, so you have the relevant knowledge and skills to apply to your own surgery. Business-centric sessions will also be on the agenda, covering areas such as P&L, tax efficiency and pension planning. You can also enjoy lectures in the Innovation Theatre, which will be running back-to-back throughout the three days or head to selected exhibitor stands for even more CPD opportunities. Best of all, all of these sessions are completely free, allowing you to gain invaluable knowledge to help your day-to-day practice no matter your budget.
BDIA Dental Showcase is also the ideal time to mix business with pleasure. Discover the new-for-2019 Networking Bar where you can meet with current or former colleagues and other peers during informal drinks receptions. This year, there will also be a Practice Owners’ Lounge, allowing practice owners to recharge between lectures and appointments and access free refreshments.
BDIA Dental Showcase wouldn’t be the same without a social event to round off the week, and this year is no different. Choose between the Bridge2Aid Bash and the FD Ball, each a perfect way to relax and catch up with both old and new acquaintances.
