Fire breaks out at Kings College Dental School in London

Fire has broken out at Kings College Hospital’s School of Dentistry on Denmark Hill, reports the Wandsworth Times. Plumes of smoke from the dentistry school building at the hospital could be seen from a distance over the roofs of nearby houses. London Fire Brigade has identified the source of the fire at a ducting at the top of the roof.

The London fire brigade sent four fire engines and around 25 firefighters to tackle the blaze. A spokesperson said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters are tackling a fire at the School of Dentistry, King’s College Hospital at Denmark Hill. A small area of ducting at the top of the roof of the Institute’s building is on fire. Fire crews from Peckham, Brixton, Old Kent Road and New Cross fire stations are at the scene alongside an incident command vehicle. The cause of the blaze is under investigation,"
