Dental Nurse Thought It Was OK To Breach Lockdown Rules

A dental nurse told police she thought it was OK to attend an illegal “lockdown house party” because she’d had a negative COVID test.

PlymouthLive reported that police confirmed the unnamed dental nurse was among sixteen people who attended an illegal ’lockdown house party’ in Plympton, Devon.

All of the party-goers, including the dental nurse, were fined £800 for the blatant breach of the lockdown. Devon and Cornwall police reported that two people were arrested for ‘possession with intent to supply’ drugs. £800 is the maximum fine given for an offence of this type.

The PlymouthLive website reported “On arriving at the property following a tip-off, police found the group, who do not live together, inside the front room of a property socialising and "drinking, smoking cannabis and doing NOS [nitrous oxide] canisters.”

The dental nurse was not identified as being involved in drugs offences.

A spokesman for Plympton Police said in a full statement on the incident "One of the party goers thought it was OK because they have regular COVID checks through their work which have all been negative to date. Please note that these tests do not mean that you are immune to COVID. If you have been lucky enough to have had the COVID Immunisation jab, you could still be a carrier and pass it on to others who have not had the jab. So it is important not to mix at this time.”
