The Care Quality Commission is taking steps to register practices that either missed the 1 April registration deadline or provided incomplete applications. Those operating before the deadline were invited to make a "transitional application". A small number of providers failed to do so and will be contacted from this week. |
Providers carrying on regulated activities must now complete the application form on the CQC website and submit them without delay. Go to: http://tinyurl.com/3evhgeu
Also, some providers have failed to apply for a CQC enhanced level countersigned CRB. They have until 1 September 2011 to provide evidence to CQC they have done so. Without it, their application will be refused and issued a notice of proposal.

Section 10(1) of the Health and Social Care Act makes it an offence to carry on a regulated activity without being registered.
