Jimmy Steele heads dental honours

Five dental professionals have been honoured by the Queen this morning CBE: Professor Jimmy Steele, Dean, Newcastle Dental School. OBE: Susie Sanderson, Chair BDA Executive Board MBE: David Collington GDP Glasgow MBE: Stephen Lambert-Humble Head of Dentistry, University of Kent MBE: Angie McBain, British Association of Dental Nurses Our congratulations to all of them

Professor Jimmy Steele is Dean of the Newcastle Dental School. He receives his award for services to Dentistry and Oral Health. He is well known to the profession for his work on the Steele Review of NHS Dentistry (2009).
Dr Susie Sanderson stands down this year as Chair of the Executive Board of the British Dental Association. He receives her award for services to dentistry. She has been chair of the Board for six years, and has served on it for 12.
David Collington was a General Dental Practitioner, North Road
Dental Practice, Glasgow. He also receives his award for services to Dentistry.
Professor Stephen Lambert-Humble is Head of Dentistry at the University of
Kent, South East. He receives his award for services to Dental Care and Education. He is a Consultant in Dental Public Health, and following a full career in the Royal Navy, he moved sideways from being the Dental Dean for all the Armed Forces, to being appointed as the Dean for Kent Surrey and Sussex Deanery.
Ms Angie McBain was recently President of the British Association of Dental
Nurses. She receives her award for services to Dental Nursing. She is a DCP tutor at Luton and Dunstable NHS Trust
