Dr Nick Palmer of the Faculty of General Dental Practice UK (FGDP(UK)) has been appointed dental adviser to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)’s Committee on Managing Common Infections. Almost one in five (18%) of the British only visits the dentist when they think they have a problem with their teeth, according to Mintel research. And it is the nation’s men who are the most likely to shy away from the dentist’s chair, as some 21% of men admit to only visiting the dentist when a problem arises, compared to just 15% of women.

Kellogg’s has been accused of a “weaselly” attempt to get around child obesity sugar rules after rebranding Frosties as an adult cereal.
